Teachings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba
Sathya Sai Baba had not come to found or preach any new religion or philosophy. He had come to show all humanity the foundation of LOVE in every life, indeed all life.
In the words of Sathya Sai Baba,
“I have come not to disturb or destroy any Faith, but to confirm each in his own Faith, so that the Christian becomes a better Christian, the Muslim a better Muslim and a Hindu a better Hindu. I have come to reconstruct the ancient highway to God; to instruct all in the essence of the scriptures, to shower on all this precious gift; to protect the Eternal Righteousness and to preserve it. My Mission is to serve happiness and so I am always happy to come among you, not once but twice, thrice, as often as you want me. To set right those who have taken to wrong path and to protect the good people, Sai will be born again and again.”
Sathya Sai Baba can only be described as the personification of pure, selfless love, the embodiment of peace and bliss, the essence of all goodness. In His teachings He calls upon all faiths and emphasizes the unity of all religions in the oneness of Divinity.

Our primary purpose is to be the principal instrument through which our members experience an ever-increasing faith in God, along with the recognition of the inherent Divine Nature of human beings and all of God’s creation.
Centre activities include the study of the teachings of Sathya Sai Baba and the sacred literature of all religions; group devotional singing, meditation, and selfless service to the community. The Centre programs are compatible with all major religions, and membership includes people from all walks of life. The Centre also serves as a focal point for the planning and carrying out of community service projects by its members.
Our main activities are classified under the heading of three wings: Devotion, Education, and Service. These activities correspond to the three main paths to self-realization: devotion (bhakthi), spiritual wisdom (jnana), and renunciation of the fruit of action (karma).

From Humble Beginnings
Sri Sathya Sai Center of Toronto-York started in a humble and informal way during the 1970’s with a few devotees meeting in homes every week. In time to come, the spiritual group grew rapidly and took on a formal standing. The devotees of this Organization consist of spiritual seekers from varied traditions who came together to share their experiences of Sai Baba, to study His teachings, to sing devotional songs from all religions and join in selfless service activities conducted by the Organization. The congregation comes together every Sunday morning where Swami’s teaching are imparted and imbibed by way of study circles, experience sharing, prayers, classroom activities via Sai Spiritual Education (SSE) lesson plans, Dynamic Value Parenting (DVP) workshops and singing of devotional songs to the different names and forms of the Divine. The Organization also engages in service activities for the needy, feeding of the homeless, visiting of nursing homes and homework help after school. Today the Sri Sathya Sai Center of Toronto-York is made up of more than 90 active families.
The primary objective of the Organization is to aid spiritual seekers in their quest for God by helping them to recognize the divinity in all. The Organization provides a forum where spiritual aspirants learn spiritual values. It is a training ground where members practice the teachings of Sai Baba with special emphasis on service to others.
The primary aim of the organization is to institute, establish and escalate the essential unity of all faiths and to propagate through example and practice the principles of Truth (Sathya), Righteousness (Dharma), Peace (Shanthi), Love (Prema) and Non-violence (Ahimsa). The Sathya Sai Organization thus seeks to “awaken in man, the awareness of the Divinity inherent in him”.
The basic unit of the Organization is the Centre, which engages in spiritual, educational and service activities. The office bearers are the president and the 3 coordinators that are responsible for the Spiritual, Educational and Service activities respectively.
